2012 Chevy Volt Technology
Driving the 2012 Chevy Volt is more simple than other model vehicles due to its two interactive LCD screens that work as the Volt's instrument cluster and media center. Controls are just a button press away including the ignition. The instrument cluster in front of the steering wheel is configurable and displays much of what a traditional instrument cluster would. The LCD screen to the right of the steering wheel is a touch screen display that shows real-time information on Energy Usage and Power Flow. It also has the ability to show you how much energy is left in the battery, and with the OnStar® Remotelink app, you can remotely access controls in your Volt so you can remotely start and cool the vehicle from anywhere your phone has service.
2012 Chevy Volt Performance
The 2012 Chevrolet Volt gets instant 273 lb.-ft. of low-end torque with its electric propulsion system, and can reach a test-track top speed of 100 miles-per-hour. The Volt has three convenient driving modes to help you get the most efficiency depending on the terrain you drive on everyday. Normal mode enables the Volt to drive like a conventional car, Sport mode gives the driver a more aggressive feel and increased responsiveness, and Mountain mode maintains a reserve of power for climbing long, steep roads. To make the most out of every unit of electricity, the Chevy Volt also features regenerative braking that will capture some of the energy that is normally lost when applying the brake, and stores it back into the main battery.
